The
nursing profession was my life for many years. The
last few years of my nursing career was dedicated to
working with the elderly, helping them regain a
feeling of purpose for their lives.
As a single mom I was involved in many of my son’s
activities, Den mother to the young scouts, T ball,
and volunteering at school.
Years
later a man came into our lives, his name, Don
Wisdom. Marriage followed 2 years later, then soon
my husband suggested that we get a Bullmastiff, I
asked, “what is a Bullmastiff?” .
After researching the breed and their
characteristics we all decided that this was a breed
that would fit our criteria. Well without delay our
first puppy arrived, Gabriel a beautiful mahogany
red 12 week old puppy. We were in love. Six months
later a second puppy joined the Wisdom household. We
felt Gabe needed a playmate. Our dear Abbie arrived
Thanksgiving morning by Delta airlines from Dox
Kennels in Illinois. It didn’t take long until we
were involved in the dog show circuit and entering
our dogs in AKC sanctioned shows. The first weekend
out both dogs took winning ribbons and points in
spite of my lack of handling skills. We were hooked.
We traveled around Florida enjoying our new sport,
spending time with our son and puppies, and meeting
new folks who also adore their animals. As our love
for our puppies grew so did our desire to photograph
their every movement. It soon seemed as though every
note card or piece of stationery had their picture
on the front.
Gabe and Abbie, Champion Barkstar Gabriel and
Champion Dox Angelic Abigail now had reached the
goal of AKC Championships.
It was time now to have a litter of pups just for
the sheer joy and experience of it.
Our first litter arrived and what an exciting and
beautiful experience. It was one the most wonderful
miracles that I could have been a part of. Abbie blessed us with 3 girls and a boy. With this
new family we realized that we needed to call our
new pups by an official name. With Don being a
retired Colonel in the US Army and an Airborne
Ranger we thought it would be very patriotic to call
our kennel RANGER’S BULLMASTIFFS. And so it was with
First Sgt. Lacey to carry on in our family. The
other pups found fabulous homes and have been
spoiled and loved from day one.

With Lacey being our choice to keep we soon
continued on our show weekends picking up points and
collecting ribbons for our trophy room. As Lacey
grew and reached her championships we starting
looking for a handsome fellow to compliment her.
